Winter, O Winter,
What have you to say for yourself?
At first snowfall we greeted you with delight,
Delight that fades as your cold
penetrates marrow
frozen.
Having outstayed your welcome this year,
Taken your power a little too seriously,
fruit in summer will be hard to find.
And yet you shine on me today,
Sparkle your glitter at me,
As if to say
You haven’t played yet.
I’m not leaving until you come.
Havving read this I believed it was very enlightening.
I appreciate you taking the time and effort tto put this content together.
I once again find myself personally spending wway too much time both reading and posting comments.
But so what, it was still worth it!
Beautiful poem. I will keep it in mind as I anticipate a winter very much like last.
